Green light given for brand new local centre at Marham Park

Marham Park, Countryside’s major development in Bury St Edmunds, has received planning consent from Suffolk County Council for the delivery of a brand new local centre.

The centre, which will be at the heart of the development will be built by FPC Marham Park, a joint venture between Sheppard Developments and Foundation Property and Capital PLC, to provide the growing Marham Park community with its first on site convenience store,  which will be home to a new Co-op for residents.

The new Co-op, which will span more than 4,000 sq ft on the ground floor, will provide residents with fresh food, vegetables and groceries. The Co-op brand is renowned for its commitment to local communities and creating long lasting partnerships with local residents, groups and charities.

The centre will also comprise of five two-bedroom, high quality residential homes above for private sale.

Work on the local centre is anticipated to begin in the the new year, with the centre anticipated to be complete by autumn 2022.

Marham Park is Countryside’s major new village- style development on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds spanning 200 acres.  The development is a new community that will eventually provide around 1,000 new homes supported by local amenities, along with over 65-acres of parkland and open spaces, all of which are connected by a network of new footpaths and cycle ways.

To date over 525 new homes, along with the Marham Care Home, have been built and occupied, together with a variety of play areas and a new 35-acre country park, specifically designed to encourage biodiversity and provide new habitats and homes for wildlife to thrive.  The new homes at Marham Park are making a significant contribution toward the growing housing demands in the local area and are available via a mix of tenure including 30% affordable.
